Gases have very different properties and uses - they can accelerate or slow down processes; heat up or cool down materials and be inert or help us breathe. As "unseen helpers", gases can have many industrial or medical roles to play often depending on their purity or other gases with which they are mixed. Their usefulness can even be defined by what form they take - gas, cryogenic liquid or even as a solid.

So you will find that the same gas may have as many as three or four grades - industrial, specialty, medical, drug pure. You will also find that gases or gas mixtures can be delivered to you in many different ways depending on the quantity and purity required, properties to be used and the supply distances involved.
